Martha Mukisa Joins Uganda’s 2026 Music Battle Talk, Declares She Can Defeat Any Artist

Ugandan singer Martha Mukisa has added her voice to the growing wave of music battle talk dominating the entertainment scene, boldly declaring that she is ready to face off with any artist — and win.

As 2026 unfolds, Uganda’s music industry is heating up with confidence, rivalry and potential lyrical showdowns, with several artists positioning themselves as untouchable. Mukisa is the latest to step forward, insisting that neither gender nor status intimidates her.

“I can battle any artist and beat them. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a man or a woman,” she said confidently.

Her remarks come amid ongoing statements from fellow artists like A Pass and Azawi, who have also expressed readiness for musical clashes. Azawi recently stirred debate after claiming she could defeat Joshua Baraka, particularly outside Kampala.

Mukisa, however, remains unfazed by critics who question the strength of her catalog. She dismissed doubts about her hit songs, urging fans and critics alike to do their own research.

“People should check online and see the catalog I have built over the years,” she added, emphasizing that her body of work speaks for itself.

Beyond the battle talk, the singer also addressed the business side of her career, revealing that she fully owns her music despite being signed to Black Magic Entertainment. She explained that her agreements are contract-based, ensuring clarity and control over her work.

Mukisa further expressed confidence in Uganda’s newly passed copyright law, noting that it offers stronger protection for artists and secures their earnings from platforms such as streaming services.

With more artists openly challenging each other and fans eager for potential showdowns, Mukisa’s bold stance adds momentum to what could become one of the most competitive periods in Uganda’s music industry.
